Unforgettable week!! Miracles a plenty!!

So many things to write, hopefully, I have enough time lol.

Last week I received an email from a companion that I was with about 6 months ago and he thanked me for the good habits that I helped him create. He said I changed his mission and that he has still been waking up at 6:30 am ever since we were companions. Receiving this email really made my week! I love being able to help others, haha, it just feels so great!!!

This week we saw so many miracles with the baptism of Pablo! Everything started about two months ago. He has a son that is serving a mission in Honduras. His son (the missionary) was baptized about 5 years ago and the rest of the family was baptized shortly after (except for Pablo, the dad). Over the past 5 years he hasn’t wanted anything to do with the church and didn’t want to stop drinking. However, about a week and a half ago his mom got really sick and they were talking, and she told him he needed to get his life together and go to church and she said that she would do the same when she got better... So, then Pablo told his wife that he wanted to be baptized and that he had 2 weeks without drinking, and of course she didn’t believe that he actually wanted to be baptized haha, but she called us anyway.

When we got to their house he was at work, but his wife asked me to bless their house, and then my companion and I gave Pablo’s mother a blessing. Then that Sunday he came to church for the first time in a long time and I talked to him for a bit. I explained a couple of things to him about the blessing and I told him that If he wanted the blessing to work he would need to act in faith by doing simple things like coming to church, and also praying with his mother and just being there with her in the hospital with a warm smile!

On Tuesday they were saying that they thought that they would have to put his mother on Dialysis and that she wouldn’t live much longer. However, Pablo stood firm with his faith and kept visiting her around his busy family and work schedule! His mother walked out of the Hospital on Thursday and she was doing so much better!!! I went to their house on Friday and I asked if he wanted to be baptized on Saturday or Sunday and he said that he would be working on Saturday, so we started to plan the baptism for Sunday! I told him there would be some surprises and he couldn’t have even imagined what plans I had up my sleeves hahah!

So, first things first, I called President to see if he could call the Mission President in Honduras to get us some permission to do a video call with the missionary during the baptismal service. Then my companion and I went and printed some really dope programs and put pics of his missionary and Pablo and some other family pics. Then on Saturday night we brought the program to him and he was speechless when he saw it!!! All he said was WOW, I need to go show this to my mother!

On Sunday President Cahoon came to our sacrament meeting and he gave Pablo a couple of shout outs during his talk! Then President talked to him for a bit after sacrament meeting so that was cool! We also had the Bishop invite everyone in the ward during sacrament meeting too! Then after we ate, we went and cleaned the church for a couple of hours to make sure that everything was perfect! Then Pablo and his family got to church, and we got him and his son changed into white! I let his son borrow my baptismal clothes so that was cool haha!

We connected the Laptop to a flat screen TV and we connected with the missionary with Skype. He was jumping up and down when he saw his dad in white and his brother too.  He was so excited to see all of the ward members.  There was like 50 people there haha! The Spirit was so very strong as we started, Pablo and the whole family were crying, actually the whole ward was crying. Such a treasurable experience that I will never forget.

Pablo’s wife said the first prayer, and then his oldest daughter talked about baptism, and then I talked about the Holy Ghost. Then we put a video of Christ baptism with my projector and right before the ordinance we had the Missionary bare his testimony. While they changed I showed some more videos. Then I was privileged to be able to confirm Pablo!

After we welcomed him into the ward, we went to the kitchen for some dessert. His wife brought a cake, and I brought a huge chocolate fudge cake from Costco and a Choco flan from Costco! It was a great time! As we were eating I took Pablo’s son aside and I gave him the white sock tie that he used to baptize his dad so that he could always remember this day!

Things are honestly going so great, we broke the mission record in baptisms in a month here in my zone and so that was sweet! My recent converts here are also doing big things haha! They all have temple recommends and are about to get the priesthood this week! Some of them even have callings in the ward too! The girl Alko, we baptized two weeks ago, gave a talk on Sunday so that was so cool!

Words can´t even describe how much I love the Lord’s work!

Much love,

Talk with my family weekly!! Muy Bueno!

Que rollo?

This week was gooood…. we have been working a ton. It is super cool that we can video chat and call the fam more often now. I got to talk to them for a little bit this morning so that was fun. I’m going to start doing some mission prep classes for my little sister McKall since she just started her papers... so that will be fun.

My Book of Mormon study has been going really good lately. Love that boook so much! Just thought I would share a couple of scriptures that I really like. I use them a lot to teach lots of things haha so if you all read them you will know what to do....

Alma 37: 44-47
44 For behold, it is as easy to give heed to the word of Christ, which will point to you a straight course to eternal bliss, as it was for our fathers to give heed to this compass, which would point unto them a straight course to the promised land.

45 And now I say, is there not a type in this thing? For just as surely as this director did bring our fathers, by following its course, to the promised land, shall the words of Christ, if we follow their course, carry us beyond this vale of sorrow into a far better land of promise.

46 O my son, do not let us be slothful because of the easiness of the way; for so was it with our fathers; for so was it prepared for them, that if they would look they might live; even so it is with us. The way is prepared, and if we will look we may live forever.

47 And now, my son, see that ye take care of these sacred things, yea, see that ye look to God and live. Go unto this people and declare the word, and be sober. My son, farewell.

Helaman 8: 13-15
13 But, behold, ye not only deny my words, but ye also deny all the words which have been spoken by our fathers, and also the words which were spoken by this man, Moses, who had such great power given unto him, yea, the words which he hath spoken concerning the coming of the Messiah.

14 Yea, did he not bear record that the Son of God should come? And as he lifted up the brazen serpent in the wilderness, even so shall he be lifted up who should come.

15 And as many as should look upon that serpent should live, even so as many as should look upon the Son of God with faith, having a contrite spirit, might live, even unto that life which is eternal.

1 Nephi 17:41
41 And he did straiten them in the wilderness with his rod; for they hardened their hearts, even as ye have; and the Lord straitened them because of their iniquity. He sent fiery flying serpents among them; and after they were bitten he prepared a way that they might be healed; and the labor which they had to perform was to look; and because of the simpleness of the way, or the easiness of it, there were many who perished.

Alma 33:19-21
19 Behold, he was spoken of by Moses; yea, and behold a type was raised up in the wilderness, that whosoever would look upon it might live. And many did look and live.

20 But few understood the meaning of those things, and this because of the hardness of their hearts. But there were many who were so hardened that they would not look, therefore they perished. Now the reason they would not look is because they did not believe that it would heal them.

21 O my brethren, if ye could be healed by merely casting about your eyes that ye might be healed, would ye not behold quickly, or would ye rather harden your hearts in unbelief, and be slothful, that ye would not cast about your eyes, that ye might perish?

So, this Wednesday I was going to a district meeting in Saltillo and like a good zone leader, district leader, trainer, senior companion- I brought some Costco muffins and a Costco key lime pie for the district. Then after we got on the bus I gave the stuff to my companion.  Then I went to sit down and as I put my leg up and started to slide, my pant ripped from my calf all the way up hahahha! So, then I jumped off of the bus and I ran home to change. I still made it to the meeting on time ahhaha! Good times lol gotta love some tight pants like on the real though!!

This week we held a little soccer tournament with the family that we baptized from Monterrey and with some other investigators too! It was great, the bishop was watching us during mutual and he had a look of amazement on his eyes because of how many people we had there…haha!

Much love,
Elder Cebollero

Proclaiming Repentance in Ramos

We out her dunkin´ hehe! This week we dunked Aiko which was super coooool. We have been killing it lately proclaiming repentance to everyone out here in Ramos Arizpe. I have been here for about 15 weeks and I have baptized at least one person each and every week which has been amazing. So many sweet conversion stories that have strengthened my personal conversion too.

Last week we taught Aiko for the first time, and we talked about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I felt the Spirit confirm to me that she would need to pray and talk to her mom before she would accept a baptismal date and this way she would put her own baptismal date. So, after a super great lesson with a strong Spirit I invited her to pray about baptism and to talk to her mom and we explained a couple more things and shared some testimonies and personal experiences. Then we showed up to her house on Thursday and she was like "guess what... I prayed, and I talked to my mom and I want to get baptized as soon as possible." So I told her that she could be baptized on Saturday and she said NO..... because she wanted to be baptized on Friday after mutual!! So, we taught her a couple of things and planned her baptism. The baptismal service was super spiritual; her mom was there even though she goes to a different Christian church, and she loved it!

I have so much more that I would like to say, however, I gotta go right now so that I can cop some protein in Costco. Love you all hahah

Much love,

Zone leader, District leader, Trainer, Senior companion, Elder Cebollero

We baptized 3 this week!!

Que rollo fam?

What’s goooood! Things couldn't be better, we had a fantastic zone conference this week! On Friday during the conference I took about an hour or so of the time and I lead the zone around and we talked about some things that we need to improve on. Then I grabbed my Book of Mormon and just started teaching everyone like a wizard or like my boy John Bytheway jaja dad.

My zone had half of the baptisms in the mission for this week... so you already know we are grinding. My comp and I baptized 3!!! Which was super dope!!!! We baptized Aylin, Jose, and Melanie, they are all super cool. Their parents were baptized in Monterrey years ago and then they moved here to Ramos about 5 years ago! There dad was roasting a pig a while back and he invited us to eat with them and then we found out he was a member. The mom has brought the three younger kids to church a couple of times, and last Sunday they met Elder Martinez from the seventy and he said he wanted to come to their baptism... and so we hit him up and he came to the baptism and gave a great talk! The Spirit was super strong, after he talked, his daughter that just finished her mission, talked too. We invited Melanie who is sixteen to say the last prayer and the Spirit was out of this world, she was crying, and she was just so glad that her whole family was making big changes. On Sunday the whole family made it to church which was so cool. It was great to see the dad and the oldest brother there!

My boy Elder Junior the AP came and worked with us a couple of days this week and he is super dope! He was with us for the baptisms and we had him baptize too which was super sweet!

I have no more time so I’m gonna bounce.

Much love,
Elder Ceb

Elder Cebollero's Homecoming

We loved hearing Elder Cebollero speak in our church about his mission and hearing his beautiful testimony.  After church, we had a taco bar...
