2018 has been a life changer!!

¿Que tranza morros y morras?

So, for all of 2018 I have been out here grinding in Mexico and like I don’t think it is possible to have a better year than this one that just passed by since I have had such a great time serving the Lord! The work here is amazing, it has been life changing! My life has changed, and I have been able to help change the lives of so many people in the year! It has been great! I'm sure 2019 will be a great year too, lots of stuff to look forward to, I will have the privilege to serve the Lord for another 6 months and then shortly after I will probs get married haha!

Have like no time today so I gotta bounce lol, I promise next week I will write a better email haha!

Feliz NaviDAD!!!

December 25, 2018

Feliz NaviDAD !!!

Wow this has been a fantastic Christmas day! in the morning my son and I opened our stockings and then he wanted to rest since we have been working super hard haha. So, he stayed back at the house with Elder Lopez’s kid and Elder Lopez and I met up with the APs my boys Elder Junior and Elder Porter and we got some IHOP!

This week has been insane.... tons and tons of work. We had some really cool people come to church on Sunday and we should dunk a couple this week!

Last night we ate dinner with some converts, Elder and his family, and also Monse´s parents! In between the two dinners we ran over to visit some inactive families and we sang some Christmas carols and we also shared some quick messages. It really helped us feel the true meaning of Christmas, Jesus Christ was born in a nativity and later gave his live for us and now he the Lord of Lords the King of Kings and the prince of peace.

Hope everyone has a great Christmas day,
Much love,
Elder Ceb

Pretty sweet to be a Padre

What a busy week haha!

On Monday afternoon, we went to Saltillo to take all of the new missionaries out to do some contacting! I got to work with an Elder from Idaho. We had a good time and found some really dope people! We hooked the APs up with some baptisms for sure!

Tuesday morning, we had a training conference for the trainers and then another conference with everyone together! Then President assigned us to the Elders that we would be training! My son is from Ecuador and his name is Elder Vasquez. He is a super cool guy!  He always calls me ‘Padre’ which makes me remember the college days when everyone called me Dad haha!

During the rest of the week my comp and I got grinding super hard. We are white- washing here since we are both new to the area. We have been using the ward list a ton though and we high-key found like 20 people that can be baptized in these upcoming weeks!

I had some really dope experiences this week. On Friday night, we had been walking around trying to find the people and we were not having much success... then as we were heading to the house I had a really strong prompting to knock at this house on our street. A lady opened the door and we walked right in the house, like straight up she just told us to come in... Turns out her husband is an inactive member, and her sister is also a member who is actually super-active here in our ward! We had a super spiritual lesson, and she opened right up to us and told us about her experiences in church and what not, and the Spirit was super strong!  Later, on Sunday, I told her sister that we had visited her, and she told us that she was actually just about to give us the reference to go visit her. It is crazy how fast the references come from the Spirit haha. The same thing happened to us a couple of weeks ago in my old area!

We also had a really dope lesson on Saturday night too. We went to go teach the friend of a recent convert, and it was our first time teaching him, so we decided to give a quick introduction to the Book of Mormon, and then read 3 Nephi 11! So after I described all the pictures in the front of the Book of Mormon and like the story line and what not, I started to talk about some of the prophets in the Book of Mormon, and some of the time line it was written in. Then we read verse by verse as I described everything to them! Like in verse two, it talks about some signs leading up to the coming of Christ.  So then we read Helaman 14: 20-27 where Samuel the Lamanite testified about the signs, and then we read about some of the things that happened in 3 Nephi 10 before Christ came. Then when we got to verse 8 where it describes how Christ came unto them, we read 1 Nephi 12:6 and 2 Nephi 26:1 and described how the prophet Nephi saw a vison of Christ, coming unto his posterity over 600 years into the future. Then after we read verse 12, we read Alma 16:20 and we kept talking about some other prophecies and prophets as we read on! When we finished up the chapter, I explained how Christ had just given his first words unto these people, and He invited them all to be baptized 11 times, and I was like… I know this is our first time teaching you, but baptism is way important!  We invited him to pray about his baptism, and so we finna dunk him soon! Honestly though, the Spirit was so strong during that lesson!!  I learned so much!

Tons of more stuff I wanna say, but I’m high-key out of time, so until next week,

Much love,

Elder Ceb

Transferring and Training!

What a week! So long story short we dunked another 3 people this week!!! Or in better words we were privileged to bring another 3 souls unto Christ through the waters of baptism this week! I have loved this area it has been super dope, we have been working crazy hard. I got a call last night from my boy Elder Porter #AP and I’m moving areas.... so, I’m still gonna be in Ramos, however, I’ll be on the other side of the river! I will definitely miss this side though. I have been here for about a month and a half and my comp and I have baptized 9 people, so it has been great here haha. I will also be training a new missionary so that’s Gucci! I am gonna be super busy haha because now I’m a Zone leader that is training and I’m also the district leader all at the same time ahha!

Hmmmm where do I start? On Tuesday, we got Elder and Lupita MARRIED! It was such a cool experience. I was so privileged to be able to be a part of it! My companion and I were witnesses for the wedding! (The judge lady that married them had a $3,000 Louis Vuitton x Supreme bag so I just thought I would give her a shout out for her hype).  It has been really cool to work with this family! We found them a little while ago when Elder talked to us in the street... yes, his name is Elder.... then we started talking with them and we reactivated them along with Elder’s brother, Miguel! Lupita was super timid and lowkey Catholic when we met her, but she kept her commitments and the Spirit cleared all of her doubts! She is so converted to the gospel, and she just got baptized Saturday haha! Elder and Lupita plan on getting sealed in a year from now, and they want me to come so I’m high key trying to come back here in about a year or so!!!!

Another one of the people we baptized is named Monse! She is like 25 and we baptized her son about a month ago! We hadn’t really been teaching her much because she had tons of questions and she wasn’t keeping commitments at first. However, one night we shared this scripture in a huge FHE that we held in her parent’s house and she showed up at church the next day!!!  2 Nephi 32:7 "And now I, Nephi, cannot say more; the Spirit stoppeth mine utterance, and I am left to mourn because of the unbelief  and the wickedness, and the ignorance, and the bstiffneckedness of men; for they will cnot search dknowledge, nor understand great knowledge, when it is given unto them in eplainness, even as plain as word can be." We explained how these four things that I highlighted above keep us from being able to have the Spirit, and we explained that she will never get over her doubts or be able to progress if she can’t overcome this obstacle. Later as we kept teaching her, she kept all of her commitments and when we left her the Commandment pamphlets, she straight up just told us before the lesson that she had prayed and that she needed to be baptized! So, in the end she was baptized on Saturday!

The other baptism was a 9-year-old kid named Hiram! He is super dope. Last week we went to Saltillo to do some interviews and we ran into some Elders, and they gave us the reference. So that same day we ran and visited him and invited him to church! He came to church and everything was going good! Then they had a bunch of family emergencies during the week and it was crazy. One night his mom called us at 12:30 and we had to go help them... and then the next morning she called us at 6 am because they had some more problems... We got everything figured out and his mom was able to talk to the bishop this Sunday! She is a member; however, they had been inactive for four years. Hiram is a super bright kid though; it was so cool to teach and baptize him!

Love you all, hope all is well. Everyone should read that scripture I put above in the paragraph about Monse... 2 Nephi 32:7- ponder it for a bit and make some changes in the life so that the Spirit can be your constant companion. Trust me- it will help a ton!

Much love,
Elder Ceb

Elder Cebollero's Homecoming

We loved hearing Elder Cebollero speak in our church about his mission and hearing his beautiful testimony.  After church, we had a taco bar...
